Our Pedagogy (Proposed)

At CNS Pune we view education as a journey with purpose, centered around each learner. Our pedagogy is learner-centred, grounded in inquiry, intellectually engaging and fosters deep respect for every learner and their unique perspectives. We nurture curiosity and compassion, fostering environments where learners think critically, collaborate meaningfully and grow confidently as compassionate, reflective global citizens. Our approach blends academic excellence with values-based learning that honours emotional, social and ethical development as foundational to lifelong learning.
Key features

  • Learner-centred & inquiry-driven — Curiosity driven sessions that give ample opportunities for collaborative experiential learning are conducted. Teachers facilitate and scaffold so learners develop the research, critical thinking and metacognitive skills central to the IB philosophy.
  • Multiple Intelligences as a learning tool — The curriculum is planned such that learners can access concepts through varied modalities: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalistic. This means assessment tasks and projects are inclusive and differentiated — from investigative lab reports and mathematical modelling to performance, film essays and community research projects.
  • Project-based learning (PBL)/ Experiential learning — Project based learning is the backbone of our approach in DP years: extended, interdisciplinary investigations that mirror real-world complexity and extend outside the classrooms. Integrated TOK, Extended Essay and CAS projects, give learners authentic contexts to apply subject knowledge and demonstrate agency.
  • IB-inspired learning design — We align learning outcomes to the IB Learner Profile attributes (inquirers, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, reflective, knowledgeable). The Learner Profile frames the teaching, learning and assessments making learner global citizens emulating these attributes.
  • Teachers as facilitators+ continuous PD — To maintain IB standards we invest in ongoing teacher professional development, collaborative planning time and external IB workshops so pedagogy stays current and deeply reflective.

Depth is ensured through Higher Level (HL) options lenses, and a distinctive Core (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, CAS). The DP prepares learners through pre university rigour for  global higher education and fosters ATL skills like critical thinking, research, communication and ethical reasoning.
